March 26 (mod1s) - Apple (AAPL.O), opens new tab will convene its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) from June 10 to June 14, it announced on Tuesday, amid allegations that the iPhone-maker was in discussions for AI cooperation and might disclose big changes to the iOS.
The event, opens new tab, which will be accessible online, will showcase upgrades to the software powering iPhones, iPads and other Apple products, the firm said. Some developers and students will be welcomed in-person at Apple Park on the launch day, it noted.
Investors are keenly monitoring for developments on artificial intelligence research at Apple, which has so far talked nothing about putting the technology into its gadgets. The corporation earlier this year lost the status as the world's most valuable company to Microsoft (MSFT.O), opens new tab.
Apple aims to leverage AI technologies such as Google's Gemini for a chatbot inside Apple's operating systems, while the iPhone maker's own AI engine will perform more behind-the-scenes chores across the new software, Bloomberg News reported earlier this month.
The business also wants to make the iPhone home screen more configurable with iOS 18, which some publications have indicated might signal the greatest change to the iPhone operating system in years.
The developers conference comes at a time when sales of Apple's iPhone remain poor, while those of Macs and iPads have slumped amid a global decline in gadget sales.
At last year's conference, Apple debuted the Vision Pro mixed reality headset, a new core CPU, and new laptops.
