March 26 (mod1s) - Elon Musk announced on Tuesday artificial intelligence firm xAI's chatbot, Grok, would be enabled for all premium members of social media network X, previously Twitter.
He revealed it in a post on X, without disclosing any further specifics. Previously, the chatbot was accessible exclusively to Premium+ customers.
As more advertisers walk away from the microblogging platform, the billionaire has prioritized minimizing the company's dependence on advertising and has moved his emphasis to more enticing subscription programs.
Earlier this month, Musk announced xAI will open-source Grok, after he sued OpenAI for allegedly abandoning its initial objective in favor of a for-profit business.
The move might provide the public full access to play with the code underpinning the technology and aligns xAI with businesses such as Meta (META.O), opens new tab and France's Mistral, both of which have open-source AI models.
