MOSCOW, March 20 (mod1s) - Russia said on Wednesday that it knew about U.S. intelligence operations to exploit commercial satellite operators such as SpaceX and warned that such measures made their spacecraft acceptable targets.
Reuters revealed this month that SpaceX is creating a network of hundreds of surveillance satellites under a confidential contract with a U.S. intelligence agency, revealing expanding links between Elon Musk's space firm and national security organizations.

"We are aware of Washington's efforts to attract the private sector to serve its military space ambitions," Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told reporters.
Such systems "become a legitimate target for retaliatory measures, including military ones," Zakharova warned.
