Musk's X terminates relationship with former CNN presenter Don Lemon

Don Lemon arrives for the Time Magazine 100 gala recognizing their ranking of the 100 Most Influential People in the world in New York City, New York, U.S., April 26, 2023.

March 13 (mod1s) - Social networking site X has discontinued its collaboration with Don Lemon, it announced on Wednesday, hours after the former CNN anchor stated the platform's owner Elon Musk would be his first guest in an interview planned to be shown on Monday.

X stated in January that Lemon - who was sacked in April last year after almost 17 years at CNN - will host a new exclusive program on the platform spanning politics, culture, sports and entertainment.

"The Don Lemon Show" was scheduled to feature three 30-minute episodes each week.

"His approach was basically just 'CNN, but on social media', which doesn't work," Musk tweeted on X, adding that Lemon is welcome to develop audience on the site.

X's corporate account wrote that although "The Don Lemon Show is welcome to publish its content on X, without censorship," the firm has opted not to engage into a commercial agreement with the program.

Lemon stated on X that Musk abandoned the relationship immediately after the interview recorded on Friday, adding that it had covered themes ranging from the billionaire's rocket enterprise SpaceX to the presidential race.
