Equinix recruits Google Cloud executive as CEO

March 12 (mod1s) - Data center operator Equinix (EQIX.O), opens new tab on Tuesday appointed Alphabet's (GOOGL.O), opens new tab Google Cloud executive Adaire Fox-Martin as its CEO, with the appointment effective late next quarter. 

Fox-Martin, who has been on Equinix's board since 2020, will replace the company's current Chief Executive Officer Charles Meyers. Martin has worked at Google Cloud for three years and has previously held worldwide roles at software businesses such as SAP (SAPG.DE), opens new tab and Oracle (ORCL.N), opens new tab.

Meyers will shift to the post of executive chair after six years at the helm. Current executive chair Peter Van Camp will stand down as a board member to adopt the post of special adviser to the board, the business stated. 

Equinix anticipated positive adjusted core profits last month, spurred by expectations that client expenditure on its data centers would continue consistent as more corporations seek to inject artificial intelligence technology.
